  • Resource breakdown structure (RBS) is a systematic list of resources required to execute a given project. It contains all resources, including personnel, tools, machinery, materials, etc., on which project funds will be spent.

The project manager creates RBS during the planning stage to eliminate confusion around the roles and responsibilities of each resource. It also helps identify resource overlaps and dependency to prevent future bottlenecks ahead of time.
